Kayaking/Canoeing on the Chattooga or Tallulah: located on the Chattooga, section 3 shuttle road (the Fall Creek access is minutes away) and 30 minutes from Tallulah Gorge, the cottage is an ideal home base for paddlers visiting the area.
Available year round - beautiful hiking on clear, crisp winter days.
Also available for Clemson Fall football weekends - only 40 minutes from the stadium.
Horseback trail riding: Do you own a horse and visit the Chattooga river trail system? If so you can stay in the comfort of the Cottage and ride from there to the trail network (the Earls Ford horse camp) through the National Forest on USFS gravel roads. We have a 60 ft. round pen for turn-out(additional fee of $20/night)
Located in Sumter National Forest - it's out the back door - bring a mountain bike and explore! Just a couple of miles to the river.
Private: surrounded by fields and forest; no visible neighbors; set back off the road in the bottom of a secluded mountain valley.

Swim/picnic at the Hwy 76 access on the Chattooga river (comfortable water temp in summer): 10 minutes away.
Visit Tallulah Gorge interpretive center(hiking and views atop sheer walls of the gorge; excellent indoor interpetive displays make this a great rainy day activity): 35 minutes
Hike to top of Rabun Bald for incredible views: 45 minutes
Visit shops and restuarants in Clayton Ga.: 20 minutes

Rabun County Chamber of Commerce in Clayton,Ga. offers maps/directions to many these activites and more (located next to the Pizza Hut).
Hiking: walk out the door into Sumter National Forest, hike to Fall Creek Falls or swim and fish in the Chattooga. We have information on many places to visit at the cottage
Biking: bring your mountain bike and ride the Forest Service road network that starts out of our driveway.
Fishing: you're a couple of miles from the Chattooga and within 30 minutes of some of the best trout fishing South Carolina has to offer on the upper sections of the river. Kids can fish the small stream on the edge of the property. SC DNR even stocks trout here.
Horesback Riding: visit one of our local horsepackers or bring your own.
Paddlers Welcome: if you paddle the Chattooga in your own boat you won't find a more convenient location. We're centrally located just off the section three shuttle road. Easy access for section three or four.
PEACEFUL SETTING: Located on the edge of the national forest on a gravel road; a great place to unwind for a weekend or a week.
Smoke free.
We love pets too but not at the Cottage - some of our regular guests are allergic to pet dander.
We respect our neighbors and their privacy - if you're looking for a great party place-PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE.
VARIABLE RATES: $120/night double occupancy with an additional $10/person up to 8 or a flat $690/week (six nights). We have a two night minimum on weekends and a three night minimum on the major holiday summer weekends(Memorial Day,July 4th,Labor Day). One night occupancy is $200.

*our maximum charge for mutliple days will not exceed our weekly rate of $690 (for example if 8 people stayed four nights the rate would be $690 rather than $720)
Weekly: 6 nights for $690/week up to 8 people.
A $100 damage deposit is required.
Check in: 3pm Check out: 11am (if no one is staying in the cottage the day before your arrival then we can arrange an earlier check in time).
Payment: checks preferred; half due within two weeks of phone reservation and balance due 30 days before arrival.

We are a family business so if one of the kids answers the phone(they will say "Fall Creek Cottage") just ask for Anne or Dave. If no one is home please leave a message - we will get back to you promptly. Thanks for your interest.
RENTAL AGREEMENT:
GENERAL INFORMATION RESERVATIONS : Reservations will be pre-paid. Payment required in full within 11 days of making reservations, unless within 21 days of arrival, then complete payment in full. If booking 60 days or more in advance - send deposit with in 11 days of booking.
DEPOSIT = 1/2 the rental rate. BALANCE due 30 days before arrival.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: Cancellations must be made with at least 14 days notice to be eligible for a full refund. Any cancellations made 13 to 2 days before your reservations are 50% refundable. Cancellations made the day before or the day of the reservation are non-refundable.
PEACE AND QUIET: We ask that there be no parties as the Cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood and we don't wish to disturb our neighbors.
PETS: We love them too, but in consideration of our other guests (allergic and otherwise) we don't allow pets.
NO in the house please.
DAMAGE DEPOSIT: All reservations require a $100.00 damage deposit. Options include: holding your credit card number with exp. date on file - OR - we will hold a signed check written for $100.00 to be returned within 15 days of your departure if there are no property damages or extra cleaning costs.
UPON DEPARTURE: Please leave your keys on the kitchen table and lock the doors on the way out. Please leave the property in the same good condition that you found it, to include washing the dishes, vac/sweep the floors, and bag up the trash. Please gather all the towels and bed linens and pile them by the door. THANKS!
GUEST RENTAL AGREEMENT It is understood that:
1. OCCUPANCY:
A. Guests will restrict occupancy to the 8 person limit.
B. NO PETS are permitted and if one is brought, DEPOSIT WILL BE FORFEITED AND OCCUPANCY REFUSED.
C. NO HOUSE PARTIES, FRATERNITIES ALLOWED. Should these attempt to occupy the property, occupants will be asked to vacate the Cottage and all moneys will be forfeited.
D. No in the house please.
2. DISTURBANCE: Occupancy and use of the premises and amenities shall not disturb the neighbors or neighborhood. Anne and Dave Perrin have the right to terminate this agreement, ask disruptive guests to vacate and all moneys will be forfeited.
3. DAMAGES: Guest agrees to be responsible for all damages and/or excessive cleaning caused by members of the guest's party and agrees to pay all costs including collection costs and attorney's fees, incurred as a result of such damages.
4. PERSONAL ITEMS: Anne and Dave Perrin are NOT responsible for guests' belongings which are lost or left behind.
5. Injury or Loss: Guest agrees to hold Anne and Dave Perrin harmless for any loss, injury, whatsoever, that may occur on the property during occupancy.
